Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic in March 2020 and has the potential to overload health system, compromise hospital staffs use up essential supplies. Patients with Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) are classified as patient disability increased morbidity from COVID-19 due physiological changes nature of pathology, subsequently their clinical social characteristics puts them high risk contracting COVID-19. SCI might present different symptoms than others. Weakness thoraco-abdominal diaphragm muscles impair cough, reduce lung volumes, flow rates. Interrupted pathway between hypothalamus efferent nerves (sympathetic motoric) results temperature dysregulation (poikilothermia) dysfunction febrile response. injuries at higher levels would more severe symptoms. The further complex situation delivering adequate dignified treatment. Therefore, main goal is for complete avoidance infection this specific population should be considered index suspicion when mild present. This vulnerable group patients deserves attention presented extraordinary situations such pandemics or earthquakes. overview summarizes symptom pathophysiology pandemic.
